🚢 Origami Boat Workshop at the Denny Tank
Children aged 7 to 11 and their parents and carers are warmly invited to this FREE creative workshop, set within the remarkable surrounds of the Denny Tank Museum.
Through the time-honoured craft of Origami, participants will explore play, experimentation, and sculpture by building paper boats ranging in difficulty and design. Once constructed, the boats will be coated in wax—a nod to the fine-art metal casting process—giving them durability and form.
Then the real fun begins: we’ll launch our boats and discover whose creations can float... and whose may take the plunge!
The day’s activities will be documented and used—alongside future community sessions—to help shape ideas for a new, permanent piece of public art in the soon-to-be redeveloped Dumbarton town centre.
We hope you’ll join us in celebrating creativity, collaboration, and local history. Spaces are free but limited, so booking in advance is essential.
- Reserve a ticket for each child participating in the workshop.
- Each child may be accompanied by one adult—no separate booking required for adults.
Come along and sail into a day of creativity and imagination!
