PLANNING YOUR VISIT
Do I need to pre-book a ticket to visit the museum?
To ensure you have a safe and enjoyable visit, we're limiting the number of people who can visit each day. To help us manage this, please book tickets in advance online. You can also visit the museum without pre-booking and pay on entry with cash or by card payment.
Will there be tickets available at the door?
We can’t guarantee that tickets will be available on the day, particularly during busy periods, so we recommend you book online
Can I visit with a group?
Groups are welcome to visit the museum. Advance booking is essential, and you can find out more by calling 01294 277177

Do I need to print my ticket before I arrive?
You will receive your tickets by email which you will need to bring with along with you, either on a mobile device or as a print-out.
What if I miss my time slot?
We will do our best to accommodate latecomers, however if we’ve reached capacity for the time slot that you have booked, you will be asked to wait until the next available timeslot or book again for another time.
I’ve paid for tickets—can I move them to another day?
If you would like to move your paid tickets to a different day please call the Visitor Services desk Tel. 01294277177 Our phone lines can get very busy, so please bear with us.
Why do you need to collect my data?
Offering admission tickets allows us to manage the number of visitors in the museum and provide everyone with an enjoyable day out. We would encourage you to Login or create a new account so that we can email you with helpful information. We do not share your information with outside organisations, and you can read our Privacy Policy here.
DURING YOUR VISIT
How long can I stay in the museum?
You are welcome to stay in the museum as long as you like, but an average visit lasts around two hours.
Can I leave the museum and re-enter?
Yes, you can leave the museum and re-enter on the same day by showing your e-tickets to our staff at the main entrance.
What safety measures can I expect at the museum? ·
There are measures in place to ensure visitors have a safe and enjoyable visit.
Hand sanitiser stations are located throughout the museum, including at key points such as entrances, exits and interactive experiences.
We have taken all reasonable steps to provide adequate ventilation in enclosed spaces.
We have stepped up the regular cleaning.
Are visitors required to wear a face mask or covering?
In line with Government guidance, wearing a face covering at the museum isn’t compulsory. We encourage mask wearing, particularly at busy times, so that everyone feels welcome and safe during their visit.
