Glass Workshop – Tropical Underwater Landscape
Dates: Sat 12th July
Times: 1.30pm – 4.30pm
Tutor: Eilidh Mackenzie
Join us for a captivating 3 hr workshop where you’ll learn how to cut glass into shapes for the foreground and compose a tropical underwater landscape. Using premium materials, you will cut glass shapes to use along with pre-formed glass shapes, vibrant tropical sea life themed millefiori, sparkling di-chroic glass and other accessory glasses. You’ll create a vibrant underwater ecosystem full of fish, corals and kelp.
After fusing and slumping, you will receive a stunning, freestanding decorative piece to showcase in your window or mantle. Each wave will measure 24cm x 15.5cm and is slumped into a wave form.
Completed waves can be collected from the Maritime Museum – Linthouse Building. You will receive an email notifying you when they are ready. If unable to collect in person, waves can be posted out to participants for a fee of £7.00. To choose this service please notify and pay Eilidh on the day.
Classes are limited to 10 participants and have a minimum age of 16. No prior experience necessary.
