Climb aboard the pleasure steamers of the 1920’s and 1930s!
Join author Iain Quinn at Puffer’s Café at 7pm on Wednesday 27 November and transport yourself to the 1920s and 1930s when pleasure steamers filled the Clyde on course to piers across the West coast. Then hear about life of the last remaining of the old Clyde steamers, the 1947 Paddle Steamer Waverley, in the 1970s and 1980s.
Make a night of it with our Meal and Talk (starts 7.00pm, tickets £12) or pop along for the Talk only (starts 7.45pm, tickets £5.00). Proceeds from Iain’s talk will go to the Save the Waverley Boiler Refit Appeal currently underway to raise the £2.3 million required to return Waverley to service in 2020.
