All sales of tickets help support the work of the Scottish Maritime Museum with preserving Scotland’s Maritime Heritage for future generations.


General Admission Tickets Terms & Conditions -

1. Please book your date carefully as we cannot guarantee this can be changed once booked.

2. You must show a valid ticket at the ticket collection point.

3. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable - you may be asked for additional proof of identity.

4. To benefit from concessions, please bring supporting documentation with you such as your student card or membership card and a separate form of ID.

5. Discount codes require you to present your voucher, key card/fob, membership or ID card at the visitor reception on arrival
6. Children are recognised as being between the ages of 3-16yrs and must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

7. Any tours included in the ticket price are subject to change or an alternative return date is offered.

8. Tickets cannot be used for special events.

9. The Museum buildings and grounds are designated non-smoking, which includes E-cigarettes.

10. Drinks and food items are not to be consumed in the exhibition or retail shop areas.

11. Last entry is 16:30 at our Irvine Site, 15:30 at our Dumbarton site.

12. Ticket holders who arrive late for a timed event may not be granted access



Security –

1. In the interest of your safety and the prevention of crime, cameras may be operational and occasional bag searches may be carried out.

2. You must comply with any and all instructions given to you by the Museum staff, particularly In the event of an emergency.

3. We reserve the right to confiscate any item, which in our reasonable opinion may cause danger or disruption to any other persons in the Museum or is one of the items not permitted in the Museum. Without limitation, the following may not be brought into the Venue (some items can be brought in with special permission from the Organisers): animals (except for assistance dogs); pyrotechnics or fireworks; distress flares & flares; smoke bombs; laser pens; items which may be regarded as weapons; illegal substances; legal highs (Inc. nitrous oxide); alcohol; bicycles; scooters (other than those necessary for the disabled), roller skates; drones.
